LD Systems® is a registered brand of the Adam Hall Group. DESIGNED & ENGINEERED IN GERMANY goals. A solid business model is important, of course, but being able to put a face to it offers something extra. You don't have to create superpolished videos... it's more important that they reflect who you are and your unique personality.
You might be walking the dog and decide to create a video on the current state of the music industry. Or you might be setting up for an event and guide your viewers through the various stages of the build-up. You might simply be sat at home and want to reflect on how good a recent gig went. Content is king and getting you in front of the camera only enhances that content.
If you aren't as confident as other DJs, then record a few shorter ‘test’ videos in the comfort of your own home until you find a style that works for you. Before you know it, you'll be uploading videos everyday. By creating a balance of video, photo and written content for the various social media platforms available, you can increase your audience reach. Your brand is powerful... and you are the 5 TIPS FOR BUILDING YOUR PERSONAL BRAND ON SOCIAL MEDIA brand... so don't forget to use it!
I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you at the forthcoming Pro Mobile Conference, where I will be sharing loads of tips and techniques on how to use social media to enhance your brand. For those of you unable to attend, I'll be writing a series of short articles for the magazine to give you help and advice on how to promote you as a brand as well as the tools required to do so. 1/ VIDEO Use video, video, and more video! It's by far the format that gets the best response on social media, and Facebook and Instagram give video more prominence in their news feeds too.
It gives you a chance to engage on a personal level with your audience from your business and personal profiles. Make your video personal rather than focusing purely on showing clips from your events. While it's great to see people on the dancefloor enjoying themselves, it is, for many clients, the person responsible for making that happen that interests them. By putting yourself in front of the camera, you can start to build an online relationship with a much greater audience.
2/ YOUR MESSAGE Be clear on who you want to attract with your content. Identify who you want to reach out to on social media. Who is your ideal client, where do they live, what's the demographic? Once you work out who you're talking to, creating content for your social media channels becomes far easier!
If your focus is on the wedding market, then cater your social media content around that while using your personality to connect with potential clients. 3/ IMAGES Use an online tool such as Canva to create professional looking images that you can use on all your social media platforms. Canva is packed with templates that you can edit and adapt to suit your brand by adding your own photos and text! 4/ CONTENT Generate content on a regular basis.
Get your camera out and film loads of video content at one time, or write several articles or blog posts while you're in the zone, then you've got a batch of good quality content to post regularly. Keep the content varied and interesting. Include clips of your audiences but also of you, your setup, your venues plus some 'out of the box' content: maybe your views on the charts, music in general, some new lighting that you've added recently... the list is endless.
5/ MULTIPLE USES Re-purpose your content! One video clip can be used on Facebook, Facebook Stories, Instagram, Instagram TV, Insta Stories, YouTube, Vlogs, and even TikTok! Not heard of TikTok? Check it out!
